Fan made, amateur miniseries on a tight budget -- but it's actually pretty good!
A couple of film-making Half Life 2 fans -- a small production company called the Purchase Brothers -- made a short film set in the world of Half Life 2. The story focuses on a few rebel citizens of City 17, after the Combine started getting nasty.
There is no Gordon Freeman to be found in this video, but guess what? Escape For City 17 is really well done -- not even considering that the entire budget for the project was a measly $500.
I encourage you to give it at least 30 seconds of your time.
Two parts have been made, but only this first part has been posted so far. It seems unlikely that anymore episodes beyond that will get made. Especially if the Purchase Brothers have to worry about Valve pulling out the IP-infringement, lawsuit gun on them.
Well, this is not a Hollywood game-to-movie standard such as Hitman and Silent Hill. As a result, it will only appeal to some amateur home movie makers, not the general sci-fi audiences.
Thanks for pointing that out...
