Producer and director reveal new details
Capcom has a few exciting announcements this morning, one of which many are sure to be excited about.
First, Capcom Japan revealed that Street Fighter IV has officially shipped over 2 million units worldwide. First week sales in North American have been "unbelievable," and they really can't wait to flaunt the NPD figures next month.
Yeah, yeah, whatever. Who didn't think SFIV would sell like crazy? As an industry-first, the second piece of news is a game announcement made exclusively on Xbox LIVE, but we're going to burst their bubble by telling you here and now: Lost Planet 2 is on its way!
Capcom producer Jun Takeuchi opens the video for us, building some suspense before letting viewers get an eyeful of a beautiful trailer composed entirely of gameplay footage from the upcoming title. Director Kenji Oguro follows up by answering a few questions pertaining to changes they've made to the sequel.
As it turns out, Capcom does listen to its fans (if listening will make them money), meaning co-op will be one of the new features in Lost Planet 2. As Takeuchi states at the end of the video, not much information is available right now, but they hope to provide us with more tidbits during the game's production process.
No release date was announced.
