So I hear you like Halo Wars!

Video game retail giant GameStop has announced that it will be hosting Halo Wars video game tournaments at approximately 1,000 of its U.S. store locations on Saturday, February 28, 2009.  It's an exclusive pre-launch event that will give players a chance to win the game game three days before its official release.

Participants will be competing one-on-one with each other in a single-elimination tournament, and each GameStop will have a winner.  Store winners will receive a copy of Halo Wars Limited Collector's Edition and a Halo Wars t-shirt. 

Second place winners also receive a shirt for their efforts.  Well whoop-dee-doo to that.  Probably won't even fit me.

But anyway, if you think you have what it takes to win, mark February 28 on your calendars.  Contestants have to be at least 13 years of age, and minors (under 18) will need a parent or guardian to sign their registration form.  The tournaments will begin at 2:00 pm local time, and contestants must check-in at least 30 minutes prior to the start of play.
