More AMD news for today, this time on the GPU front
Digitimes reports that the 55nm RV670 chips have apparently had a noticable increase in yields, and the improved yields will result in a better profit margin for AMD - at least until it cuts GPU pricing again.
AMD is also apparently going to introduce the Radeon HD 3830 sometime in the next two months, priced between $100-$150 - no doubt the increased yields of the 55nm RV670 are a factor in AMD's ability to field an RV670 in that price range.
There is also word that there may be a Radeon HD 3850 X2 in the near future, to compete with the 8800GTS. Apparently 3850X2's will come with 512MB to 1GB of 1.8GHz memory. At a price of $300-$380 it would be a second dual GPU Radeon board, following on the heels of the Radeon HD 3870 X2.
